Starting my career as an Apprentice Lithographic printer. learning to run B1 and B0 4 colour presses, I understand the challenges that are faced to achieve the best result on press.

Moving into Pre-Press, I managed a busy department producing high quality packaging for a number of blue chip companies. This developed and lead to the creation and running of digital prepress studios.

After a couple of years account managing Print and Repro for major high street retailers I moved in to the magazine publishing sector.

The last 15 years have been spent running workflows, looking at departmental integration and finding methods to automate as many of the routine processes involved in the day to day processing of publication printing, whilst finding the most efficient ways to achieve these goal without impacting quality control.

This process begins with the client and ends with the finished publication and we can make this work for you.

Calibration Services

Industry standard colour management services

Our calibration services include everything from the pre-press displays, CTP plate linearisation and press characteristics. We target all devise to match ISO 12647-2 to achieve an end to end process control system.

Starting the process at the beginning of the cycle, we ensure all critical displays within your pre-press and creative departments have been optimised to match the standard as is achievable. All colour profiling with in the creative applications are also configured to ensure a controlled environment and the best result are achieved.

The next phase is to ensure your CTP equipment is producing the best dot achievable from the devise and with plate linearisation.

Press fingerprint tests are then performed on your standard substrates. These tests are normally performed on a light weight and medium weight coated stocks (both gloss and silk) and also on uncoated substrates to ensure accurate reproduction on all paper types are maintained. These are then translated into your press characteristics.

Workflow Audit & Automation

Applying automation to as many areas as is effectively possible, we will create a programme of improvements and assist in the implementing of these along side your team and suppliers if necessary.

With the ever improving integration between MIS, Pre-Press, Press and Post-Press systems and equipment, we can help you to understand the savings you can make and reduce your downtime and improve your profitability.

We are always mindful that automation can be applied to the extreme to maximise profit whilst loosing the personal touch that is required for specific processes.

With this in mind we always keep customer service and quality assurance as a priority, tailoring the solution to the exacting needs of each action and client.

Client training

Improve the way you work and reduce stress.

When you have a new client that needs that little bit of extra care and attention, we can step in and become an extension of your Sales and Technical team. We will visit the customer and work through how to ensure the files will print as they see them on screen in their office. Performing the same calibration services to the client systems as we would in your studio and also ensure all applications are configured to check colour management is controlled and PDF creation is to the required standard.

We will also advise on any page layout issues that may be apparent during the visit and educate on the adjustments needed to produce the perfect design whether that is a Saddle Stitched or Perfect Bound finishing. We will also give training on the use of your file upload systems to maximise your efficiency and also improve the customer experience and control of their publication.

These services also extend to your existing clients. We have all had the call that the print is a little dark or it doesn’t look like what I have on my screen! We will represent you again either visiting them alone or along with your sales team and help the client see where things have gone a miss and rectify the systems at their end to remove the doubt or ensure the issue does not repeat itself.
